This guide covers the CKCP seat-back light kit described for 2015–2021 Mercedes-Benz C-Class W205 and GLC 253 vehicles. The source describes use with factory ambient lighting or retrofitted ambient lighting, with the seat-back lights following the vehicle's ambient-lighting functions.
Product reference
The product photo identifies the seat-back lights and their adapter harnesses. It is a parts reference, not an electrical wiring diagram.

Installation procedure
Read the following steps together with Figure 2. They follow the captions in the original installation photos.
- Hold the light strip against the seat back and check its orientation before fitting it. It will not fit in the wrong orientation.
- Feed the wire into the gap from the center toward the outside. The source shows plastic tape used to hold the light strip temporarily in position.
- Insert the lamp-head end first. For a first installation, the source recommends applying tape to protect the leather.
- Push the center retaining clips into place first, then continue fitting the strip as shown.
- Check that the light strip is centered and fully seated.
- Route the wire along the side of the seat back to underneath the seat.
- Conceal the wire in the gap shown in the photo.
- Connect it to the extension harness routed through earlier, as shown in the under-seat photo.
- Figure 2 shows the completed right seat-back light. Install the left seat-back light in the same way, routing its wire from the center to underneath the seat.
The photos show the fitting and routing sequence. They do not identify the vehicle-side electrical connection point or provide a connector pinout. The connection arrangement must be confirmed for the vehicle's factory or retrofitted ambient-lighting system before making that connection.

Video overview
The linked video is a brief overview of the seat-back lights and their connecting harnesses. It shows the components on a work surface; use Figure 2 for the illustrated installation on the seats.
Troubleshooting
- The two seat-back lights have different brightness: Check whether each lamp head makes consistent contact with its light guide. Check that the lamp heads and light guides are securely fixed and have not come loose.
- The seat-back lights show different colors: Select red, blue, and green in the vehicle's ambient-lighting settings and check whether any base color is missing. If a color is missing, inspect the lamp head and adapter connection. Check the corresponding red, blue, or green wire for a backed-out terminal, open circuit, or short circuit. The source does not specify connector pin numbers.
- A seat-back light does not illuminate: Check the adapter wiring for an open circuit or poor contact. Check the lamp-head installation and the light-guide fixing.
