Vehicle and kit scope

The archived source identifies 2022–2024 Mercedes-Benz C-Class 206 and a kit that replaces the seat foam and uses touch switches. This guide follows that specific kit and the installation recorded in its linked video. It does not establish compatibility with every seat specification, market, or left-hand/right-hand-drive configuration.

The source describes the kit as requiring no programming. Treat that as an archived product statement: the available material does not verify coding requirements for every vehicle configuration. The illustrated work includes seat and seat-belt attachment removal, upholstery work, wiring through a door connector, and modification of a switch panel. It is not a simple clip-on installation.

Before carrying out this work, obtain the applicable vehicle and kit instructions for seat restraints, airbags, electrical isolation, connector assignments, and reassembly checks. These procedures and specifications are not supplied by the archived material below.

Parts shown in the product image

The numbered labels identify:

  1. Ventilated backrest foam.
  2. Ventilated seat-cushion foam.
  3. Backrest heating pad.
  4. Seat-cushion heating pad.
  5. Touch-switch cable.
  6. Main power harness.
  7. Driver-seat touch switch.
  8. Passenger-seat touch switch.
  9. Ventilation/heating control module.

The blower fans are built into the replacement foam. The separately pictured fans show their appearance; they are not instructions to install additional loose fans. The photo illustrates components for two seats. Verify the contents and labels of the supplied kit rather than using the photo as a universal packing list. “Driver” and “passenger” do not establish the left/right switch assignment for every market.

Wiring reference

Archived dual-seat wiring diagram — Chinese original

The diagram shows two ventilation/heating control modules. Each illustrated seat branch has four blower fans and two heating pads. The touch switches connect through the factory door connectors, and the power branch is labelled as the factory cigarette-lighter connection.

Use this drawing to identify the illustrated branches, not as a terminal-level wiring specification. Its coloured lines do not establish actual wire colours, polarity, connector cavity numbers, fuse capacity, or permitted electrical load. The outer door labels repeat “left front door” and “left rear door” on both sides, while the right-side touch-switch label says “right front door.” This inconsistency requires confirmation before using the drawing for side identification.

English installation video

The following notes help locate the documented work. Approximate times refer to this 37-minute-49-second English version. Its picture pacing differs from the original Chinese video, so the same elapsed time in the two versions may show different operations.

The English track includes unrelated contact numbers, component markings, and repeated wording. Its connector instructions also need review. Use the notes as a source reference, not as a substitute for the missing technical instructions.

Recorded installation stages

  1. Seat access and removal — approximately 00:12–01:08. The introduction shows harness tape, Torx tools, a flathead screwdriver, a plastic pry tool, a drill, cutters, and an awl. The recorded work then removes the seat and releases a seat-belt attachment. The video does not provide a complete restraint/airbag isolation procedure or approved refitting specifications. Obtain those separately before disassembly.

  2. Remove the original foam and preserve the upholstery — approximately 04:39. The recorded sequence removes the backrest panel and headrest, releases upholstery retainers, and separates the original backrest and cushion foam. It also shows disconnecting the original heating connection. Record the connectors and upholstery retention points for the actual seat; the footage does not confirm how every factory heating or occupant-sensing configuration should be handled.

  3. Fit the replacement foam and heating pads — approximately 10:25–12:00. The footage shows a heating pad positioned on the ventilated foam and aligned using its adhesive areas. The upholstery is refitted around the replacement foam. A later view specifically warns against trapping a wire at the backrest structure. The material supplies no approved adhesive specification, sensor-placement procedure, or clearance measurements.

  4. Restore the backrest assembly — approximately 19:23. The recorded sequence reinstalls the headrest and backrest trim and aligns the panel retainers. It is useful for recognising the demonstrated clip arrangement. It does not establish airbag, seat-frame, or restraint acceptance after reassembly.

  5. Route the touch-switch connection through the door connector — approximately 22:23–24:03. The installer demonstrates opening the connector retainers and passing the added conductors through paired connector positions. A later explanation requires each conductor to meet its corresponding position at the other half of the connector. The earlier English wording “any hole is fine” is insufficient on its own. Do not choose arbitrary unused cavities or treat the example “pin 1” as an approved pin assignment. A confirmed connector view and cavity map for this kit and vehicle are still required.

  6. Identify the kit harness branches and power adapter — approximately 26:57. The demonstrated harness has ventilation/heating branches and a large adapter identified as connecting at the cigarette-lighter connection. The source captions identify white as the ventilation branch and green as the heating branch for the demonstrated kit; confirm actual connector labels rather than applying those colours to factory wiring. The available drawing and footage do not establish polarity, fuse rating, circuit capacity, or a vehicle-specific power-connection approval.

  7. Convert the door switch panel — approximately 29:26–34:12. The recorded sequence removes the switch assembly, releases its retainers, modifies the panel, and refits the touch-switch assembly and fasteners. The source caption sequence includes drilling the panel. It provides no verified hole size, location template, or accepted modification specification. Obtain that information before drilling or altering the panel.

  8. Reconnect and restore the seat and trim — the final reassembly section before 37:16. The footage identifies the backrest/cushion ventilation and heating connections before restoring the seat and trim. The archive does not provide seat or belt fastening torques, replacement-fastener requirements, an SRS diagnostic procedure, or a full seat-travel wiring-clearance check. These remain necessary acceptance items rather than inferred results from the finished appearance.

Touch-switch demonstration

At approximately 37:16–37:42, the recorded demonstration operates the ventilation and heating touch controls. The source describes three levels: three illuminated indicators correspond to level three, two to level two, and one to level one. No illuminated indicator corresponds to the function being off.

This is a control demonstration. It does not verify heating temperature, current draw, every fan, or restraint-system condition. The original tutorial contains no separate effect-showcase item.

Troubleshooting information

The archived troubleshooting section contains only an empty numbered entry. It provides no fault-specific checks, diagnostic values, or confirmed repair procedure. A troubleshooting request therefore needs the vehicle/seat specification, kit identification, affected function, indicator behaviour, and photos of the relevant connections so that the correct instructions can be identified.
