Vehicle and kit scope

The archived Chinese tutorial identifies this kit for 2021–2024 Mercedes-Benz S-Class 223/W223 vehicles with factory ambient lighting. It describes a replacement installation using matching adapter plugs without cutting the factory wiring. These are the source's compatibility claims; they do not establish compatibility for every market, audio package, door harness or module revision.

This guide concerns the front-door 4D rotating tweeter kit, not a 3D tweeter or a rear-door kit. Confirm the vehicle and supplied kit before applying the demonstrated connections. The kit photograph and installation video show different module date labels; their interchangeability has not been established.

Kit components

W223 front-door 4D rotating tweeter kit: tweeters, rotation drive modules, adapter harnesses, ambient-light modules and dual-light-head harnesses

The source photograph groups the parts as follows:

  1. Rotating tweeter assemblies — one pair.
  2. Rotation drive modules — one pair; these control the rotating assemblies.
  3. Main power/adapter harnesses — one pair, including the blue and white mating connectors shown in the source.
  4. Ambient-light control modules — one pair; these are separate from the rotation drive modules.
  5. Dual-light-head harnesses — one pair, each with two light heads. The source tags contain the identifiers 223 and 50CM. The English image's shortened “22” and “2350cm” labels need correction and must not be used as wiring specifications.

The photograph's “64 colors” description is a source product claim, not a verified test result for every vehicle configuration.

Tools shown in the installation video

The source tool card shows T20 and T30 drivers, a plastic trim tool and wiring-harness tape. It does not provide tightening torques, battery isolation instructions or a complete electrical diagram.

Installation sequence shown in the source video

The following steps recover the demonstrated process. They describe the matching source kit and do not replace vehicle-specific service information or a confirmed connector diagram.

  1. Release the small cover and remove its screw — approximately 00:16–00:28. Use the plastic trim tool at the position demonstrated in the video. Remove the cover/clip to expose the screw, then remove that screw.
  2. Remove the door pull/armrest trim cover — approximately 00:28–00:43. Move the cover outward and rearward in the direction shown. This exposes two screws identified by the source caption as T30. Remove those screws before releasing the door panel. The current English video's “G30” and “whole door panel” wording at this point is inaccurate.
  3. Release and support the door panel — approximately 00:43–01:19. Release the retaining clips from the demonstrated position, draw the panel away and support it while disconnecting the handle/lock cable and the door-panel wiring. The source shows the cable being released separately from the electrical connectors; it is not simply an electrical “connector latch.”
  4. Remove the original tweeter assembly — approximately 01:19–01:48. Release the surrounding trim as demonstrated, release the original tweeter and unplug its connector. The hand position and direction in the source video are specific to the trim shown.
  5. Install the replacement rotating tweeter — approximately 01:48–02:08. Pass its leads through from behind the trim, then seat the assembly in the demonstrated position. Keep the leads accessible for the subsequent connections.
  6. Fit both light heads and restore the surrounding trim — approximately 02:08–02:33. Bring the dual-light-head harness in from behind and seat one light head at each shown retaining position. After both are seated, refit the surrounding trim. These parts are light heads, not electrical plugs to be pushed into the trim.
  7. Identify the tweeter leads and the two modules — approximately 02:33–02:52. The source identifies three leads from the rotating tweeter assembly. Mate the speaker lead with the factory tweeter connection as demonstrated, leaving the two other lead groups for the kit wiring. Identify the rotation drive module and the separate ambient-light control module by their labels. “Rotate out three wires” in the current English video is a mistranslation, not an instruction to twist the harness.
  8. Connect the ambient-light module — approximately 02:52–03:27. For the source module, the installer opens its housing, connects the adapter-harness plug called 5P in the source, and connects the light-head harness at the port called 4P. The source explains that opening this particular housing gives clearance for the light-head harness connector. Close the housing after the connectors are seated. Do not transfer this housing-opening procedure or pin assignments to a different module revision without confirmation.
  9. Connect the rotation drive module — approximately 03:27–03:44. Mate the shown black connector with the rotation drive module. Mate the white adapter connector labelled for the rotating tweeter with the matching blue connector demonstrated in the video. Connector colors identify this source harness only; they do not establish a universal electrical pinout.
  10. Insert the remaining adapter at the factory connection — approximately 03:44–03:59. The source calls this the factory connector No. 12. It describes a numbered connection, not a verified twelve-pin connector. Follow the demonstrated matching plugs only after the exact connector and harness have been confirmed, then secure the wiring as shown.
  11. Restore the door-panel connections and panel — approximately 03:59–04:19. Reconnect the handle/lock cable, mate the shown blue and white adapter plugs for the No. 12 connection, and restore the other disconnected connectors. Refit the door panel as demonstrated. The source does not supply reassembly torque values or a complete final test procedure.
English installation video

This is the locally bound English version of the same archived installation video. Its English captions and narration still require corrections, including the T30 screw designation, the trim-cover sequence, the handle/lock cable, the light heads, the three tweeter leads and connector No. 12. Chinese tool cards, module labels and stage labels remain visible in the video. Use the corrected source-based descriptions above to identify the differences; the video has not passed complete listening and continuous-playback review.

Wiring information and installation limits

The original article's wiring-diagram section contains no usable diagram. The installation video shows matching connectors, but it does not establish the approved power/fuse specification, polarity, wire functions or individual pin assignments. Module mounting, routing clearances, service safety procedures, fastening torques, audio-package compatibility and any coding requirements remain to be confirmed for the exact vehicle and kit.

Results and troubleshooting

The archived result-video link lacks an article identifier, so no separate result video has been verified. A parts photograph and an installation demonstration do not verify rotation behavior, factory color/brightness matching, speaker output or door-control operation after installation.

The original troubleshooting section contains only an empty numbered item. No source-backed troubleshooting procedure is available. Record the vehicle configuration, module label/version, exact connector involved and observed symptom when requesting the missing technical guidance.
