Vehicle and product reference

The archived tutorial identifies the product as a 4D rotating tweeter for the Mercedes-Benz CLA117 and gives a 2013–2019 vehicle range. The demonstration replaces the original tweeter housing and connects an adapter harness, a driver module and ambient-lighting leads in the front door.

The original description refers to using the factory wiring connections and to integration with factory or subsequently added ambient lighting. The film shows one installation arrangement; it does not establish compatibility with every audio package, door module, lighting kit or left- and right-hand-drive configuration in that year range. The exact kit and vehicle configuration still need confirmation.

Product and tools shown

The video shows a rotating tweeter assembly with three groups of leads, a retaining-clip position, a module with an adapter harness, and an ambient-lighting extension harness. A trim pry tool and a T30 driver are used to remove the door trim and its two screws. T30 specifies the driver size, not a tightening torque.

The archived product-diagram section contains no separate picture or complete parts list. This entry has one installation video and no standalone images.

English video

This is the video bound to this archived CLA117 tutorial. The chapter bar's wording “Remove the car door” refers to removing the interior door panel. The final chapter concerns reconnecting the harnesses and refitting that panel; it does not demonstrate a coding or electronic reset procedure.

Video steps and navigation

The times below refer to the bound video. The connection descriptions identify what the demonstrator shows; they do not replace a connector diagram for the exact kit.

  1. Remove the silver trim and two screws — 00:14–00:35. Use the trim pry tool at the seam to release the clipped silver door trim. The presenter identifies two screws beneath the trim and removes them with a T30 driver.

  2. Release the door panel — 00:35–00:55. Work from the demonstrated gap to release the panel clips and pull the panel outward. The presenter then disconnects the attachment shown behind the panel and releases the door-handle cable. The video does not give a complete connector inventory for this removal stage.

  3. Remove the original tweeter housing — 00:55–01:07. Pull out the original tweeter assembly. The presenter shows a yellow retaining clip on its back, pushes the clip down and removes it.

  4. Connect and seat the replacement tweeter — 01:07–01:33. The replacement has a corresponding retaining position and three groups of leads. The presenter connects the original tweeter lead to its matching adapter, aligns the retaining position and presses the assembly into place. The subtitle calls the factory tweeter plug “black”, while the sampled connection view shows a blue outer connector housing. Identify the matching connector from the actual kit and its diagram rather than relying on that color description.

  5. Connect the module and tweeter driver harness — 01:33–01:50. The presenter takes out the adapter harness with its module and shows its connection at the factory door module. The script calls this factory connection the “number 5 plug”, then separately identifies an additional 5P connector for the rotating tweeter. These descriptions do not specify a terminal numbered pin 5. The exact connector assignment and electrical mapping remain unconfirmed.

  6. Connect the ambient-lighting extension — 01:50–02:15. The presenter connects the matching white extension connectors, refers to added ambient lighting, and identifies another connection for the door-panel ambient lighting. The sequence then shows the wiring gathered inside the panel area and the module secured with double-sided tape at the demonstrated location. The tape grade, mounting specification and a complete routing diagram are not supplied.

  7. Reconnect the panel wiring — 02:15–02:31. The presenter reconnects the shown factory blue connection through the white adapter pair, restores the connection described as red, and connects the reserved door-panel ambient-lighting lead to its matching pair. Colors identify the demonstrated arrangement only; they are not a universal connector or pin assignment.

  8. Finish the connections and refit the panel — 02:31–02:45. The script identifies the tweeter driver cable and speaker cable as connected, shows the remaining panel-side connection and instructs the installer to refit the complete door panel. The recording then ends with branding. It does not show a complete final functional test.

Ambient-lighting and rotation conditions

The demonstration includes an ambient-lighting extension connection. The archive does not supply exact rotation triggers, color-control settings, a coding requirement, a DIP-switch table or a distinction between all factory and added lighting configurations. Do not infer those settings from the connection sequence alone.

Result demonstration and troubleshooting

The archived result and troubleshooting sections contain no separate examples or fault branches. The installation video is not a full demonstration of rotation, speaker output, lighting synchronization or restored door functions after refitting. Those checks and the exact connector, fitment and installation specifications remain to be completed for this kit and vehicle.
