This guide follows the archived rear-door 4D rotating-tweeter tutorial for the Mercedes-Benz E-Class 214. The parts illustration is labeled 2024–2025 W214, short-wheelbase, four-door illuminated covers, rotating version. That is the illustration's stated scope; it does not establish compatibility with every E214 vehicle, trim level or kit revision. The procedure below concerns the rear doors.

1. Product and parts reference

Rear-door rotating tweeter kit and numbered parts

The original illustration identifies these parts in order:

  1. 01: Front-door covers.
  2. 02: Rear-door rotating covers.
  3. 03: Cover extension cables.
  4. 04: Cover power adapter cables.
  5. 05: Rotation drive modules (4D).
  6. 06: Rear-door rotation adapter harnesses.
  7. 07: Cover lighting modules. The source module labels identify ambient-light LIN control modules (YC) for vehicles with factory ambient lighting.
  8. 08: Cover adapter cables.
  9. 09: Mounting screws.
  10. 10: Speakers.
  11. 11: Speaker adapter cables.

The overview shows a four-door parts set, including front covers. Use the rear-door wiring diagram for the rear rotating assembly. Match the supplied module labels and harnesses to the actual vehicle and kit; a model-code list printed on a module is not a complete fitment decision.

2. Wiring diagrams

Illuminated-cover diagram

Illuminated Cover.pdf

This original diagram shows the cover lighting branch separately from the rotating motor branch. Its numbered legend is:

  1. Illuminated cover, shown at the front-door midrange position.
  2. 4PIN light-wire connector to the lighting module.
  3. Adapter extension cable between the module and light.
  4. Ambient-light module for lighting drive and synchronization.
  5. 5PIN / three-wire lighting-module lead, identified as taking the factory ambient-light communication.
  6. Main-harness power adapter to the factory ambient-light harness.

The diagram states that covers of the same style use the same connection arrangement across the four doors. This statement does not replace the separate rear-door rotating-motor diagram or prove that different cover and module versions are interchangeable.

Rear-door rotating-tweeter diagram

Rear Door Rotating Tweeter Cover.pdf

The rear-door diagram distinguishes the motor, lighting and speaker branches:

  1. Rear-door rotating tweeter cover, fitted at the rear-door midrange position.
  2. 5PIN / five-wire motor lead between the drive module and motor.
  3. Rotation drive module controlling the tweeter motor.
  4. Drive-module connector.
  5. Main-harness power adapter to the door-control connection.
  6. 5PIN / three-wire lighting-module lead taking the factory ambient-light communication.
  7. Ambient-light module for lighting drive and synchronization.
  8. One-to-two adapter cable joining the module and lights.
  9. 4PIN light-wire connector to the lighting module.
  10. Speaker fitted at the rear-door tweeter bracket.
  11. 2PIN / two-wire speaker adapter to the factory speaker wiring.

The speaker inset is marked as a provision for vehicles without a factory tweeter. Its application must be matched to the vehicle's existing audio configuration. The diagram states that the left and right rear-door connection arrangements are the same.

Both PDFs advise fully seating the matching connectors, professional installation and a functional check after installation. They identify connector housings and populated wire counts, not cavity-by-cavity electrical assignments. These PDFs retain their original Chinese labels. The English legends above aid reading; verified pin assignments, polarity, power-isolation procedure, fastening torque and any coding requirements are still needed for a complete technical installation release.

3. Installation video and workflow

English installation video — local review copy

This is the recording bound to this rear-door tutorial. The following approximate navigation points refer to that recording. The existing English subtitle and voice script remain under review: the opening omits the tool and door-removal explanation, and several later connector phrases are inaccurate or ambiguous. Use the source-supported descriptions here to locate the relevant sections; the video has not received complete audiovisual or technical acceptance.

  1. 00:09–00:12 — Tools shown. The source lists a plastic trim tool, harness tape and a T30 driver. These are the tools displayed for this demonstration; no tightening torque is provided.
  2. 00:15–00:31 — Rear-door trim removal. The demonstration identifies two door-trim screws, releases the trim with a plastic tool and disconnects the original connectors and handle linkage. It does not provide a verified full vehicle power-isolation or trim-clip procedure.
  3. 00:32–00:46 — Rotating-cover replacement. After removing the original cover, the demonstrated rotating assembly is fitted and secured with screws. The source identifies two four-wire leads and one five-wire lead emerging from this assembly.
  4. 00:47–01:27 — Harness and module branches. The demonstration introduces the lighting and rotation modules, mates the corresponding five-wire and four-wire leads, and shows differently sized keyed module connectors. Keep the five-wire motor branch distinct from the five-position, three-wire lighting lead in the diagram. Connector appearance and wire count alone do not identify an electrical pin assignment.
  5. 01:28–01:47 — Factory-harness adapter and module placement. A blue and a white adapter are shown with the factory connection described in the source as a 12-position connector. The source shows the adapter connection, return to the original door-control module, module placement and tidying of the wiring. The English phrase “This plug is misaligned” is not a supported instruction to offset a connection.
  6. 01:48–02:00 — Door-control reconnection. The source identifies the remaining white connector as connector No. 3, followed by the blue connector described as a 12-position connector. “No. 3” is a connector designation in the source, not proof of a three-pin connector; do not use the current English subtitle's “3-pin” wording as a pinout.
  7. 02:00–02:10 — Tweeter-bracket branch. For the vehicle shown, the source states that the original tweeter bracket need not be cut. It says if a speaker is supplied, it can be fitted in that bracket. This is conditional on the demonstrated kit and audio configuration, rather than a promise that every package includes speakers or that every bracket has the same clearance.
  8. 02:10–02:27 — Demonstrated result. The recording shows an illuminated rear-door cover and an extended tweeter. The source describes extension when the car is started and return when it is switched off. Full movement, timing and sound quality have not been verified through continuous playback here.

4. Result and functional checks

The installed-view section shows the rear-door illuminated cover and rotating tweeter in the demonstrated car. This is a visual reference, not acceptance of fitment, electrical safety, audio quality, obstruction clearance or repeated rotation cycles on another vehicle. The original written “effect display” section contains no separate test results or additional footage.

5. Troubleshooting and support information

The original troubleshooting section is empty. No verified fault-code list, diagnostic procedure, reset method or module-coding remedy is supplied. If the lighting, speaker or rotation does not operate as expected, provide the actual vehicle details, kit/module labels, rear-door harness photographs and observed symptom to the installer or supplier for source-specific guidance; this guide cannot supply an unverified connector, wiring or coding change.

Archived source reference: CKCP source archive / qMBdprQ. The guide retains its own image, two wiring PDFs and the exactly associated rear-door installation recording.
