This archived guide covers the standard 4D rotating tweeter shown in this tutorial's own W206 installation video. The product image describes a 64-color kit for 2022–2025 Mercedes-Benz C-Class W206 vehicles. These are source descriptions; compatibility with a particular vehicle, audio configuration and supplied harness still requires confirmation.
Product and kit identification
Use the original picture's numbering when identifying the parts:
- 01 — 4D rotating tweeters: the two triangular tweeter assemblies.
- 02 — Rotation drive module and harness: the photographed module label reads
206/214/254/223,(4D),CKCP V1.0 2024/04/09. This label identifies the photographed hardware; it does not approve installation on every listed chassis.
The existing English image uses “rotating treble,” reverses the two component descriptions in its notes, and covers the Chinese rotation-drive-module label. The numbered list above restores their meaning; the image itself still needs local correction.
Installation video and chapter navigation
The following chapters describe the actions and Chinese captions in this tutorial's own source video. They help locate the demonstration and do not replace a verified vehicle-specific service procedure.
- 00:11–00:19 — Tool and screw locations. The source specifies a T30 Torx tool and points out two door-panel screws to remove. It does not provide tightening torque or an electrical-isolation procedure.
- 00:20–00:42 — Door-panel removal. The demonstration uses a trim pry tool at the shown edge, releases the panel, handles the door pull/handle connection, and releases the two connectors by pressing their retaining clips. Check the exact retainers and panel-removal method for the vehicle before copying the demonstration.
- 00:43–00:58 — Original cover and cable route. Push out the original tweeter cover as shown. Position the replacement tweeter and feed its harness through the demonstrated opening, drawing the lead out on the rear of the panel.
- 00:59–01:07 — Tweeter mounting. Align the retaining clips with the mounting positions and push the assembly into place as demonstrated. The narration/captions mention both three and four clips; the actual clip count and fit must be checked on the supplied assembly.
- 01:08–01:18 — Blue/white adapter connection. Locate the blue and white connectors shown in the video and match the demonstrated adapter connection. At about 01:16, the original Chinese frame says connector No. 12, while the English caption says connector 13. This is a source/translation conflict to resolve against the exact module and harness diagram, not an instruction to connect to electrical pin 12 or 13.
- 01:19–01:35 — Tweeter lead and remaining mating connectors. The source calls the lead a three-wire connector, then shows it mating with the connector called
4pin the Chinese frame, followed by the demonstrated white/red mating connection. Use the exact matching housings and approved harness instructions. The captions alone do not establish terminal numbering, voltage, wire function or a universal pinout. - 01:35–01:47 — Speaker lead for vehicles without factory tweeters. The source describes a conditional branch: when the original vehicle has no tweeter, disconnect the midrange-speaker lead, insert the demonstrated adapter connection and reconnect the midrange speaker. The closing section calls for a function test and door-panel refitting. This branch must be checked against the actual factory audio equipment; it is not a blanket claim that all W206 vehicles lack tweeters or use the same connection.
Checks still required
Confirm the exact vehicle equipment and module/harness version before installation. Obtain the approved connector diagram, power-supply and terminal definitions, isolation procedure, mounting instructions and tightening specifications. This source does not provide verified software coding or DIP-switch settings.
The archived effect-display and troubleshooting headings contain no written test criteria or fault procedure. The video calls for a function test, but the sampled frames do not establish rotation, lighting and speaker acceptance for the finished vehicle. Obtain the kit-specific test and fault instructions rather than treating an empty chapter as a completed test.
The current English video still requires subtitle and voice review. Its opening says “new CG” and “full-brain tweeter”; the connector caption changes No. 12 to 13, and the original three-wire description becomes “three-pin.” The speaker branch loses its conditional wording. Original Chinese captions remain visible. No complete source/current playback, listening review or technical acceptance has been recorded for this revision.
