The Chinese body identifies model-year 2020–2024 Mercedes-Benz GLE167 / GLS167, while the product image is labeled 2020–2022 GLE / GLS W167 and 64-color seatback ambient lighting. The source does not resolve this difference. Confirm the actual kit, seat design and vehicle options before fitting; the broader year range is not a compatibility confirmation.
Product image and corrected numbered key
Read this key before using the image: the added English notes below the product picture misassign labels 01–03. The original Chinese numbered key is: 01 seatback ambient lights; 02 module power harness; 03 ambient-light module; 04 lamp harnesses; 05 extension harnesses. Use this corrected key rather than the misnumbered English notes in the image.
The original picture shows two seatback light assemblies, one module power harness, one module, two lamp harnesses and four extension harnesses. These are the pictured components; the source gives no separate packing list to confirm the supplied quantities or the connections between all five component groups.
Installation sequence shown in the source
- Insert the light guide into the seatback gap, fit the light unit and tighten the screws on the light housing.
- After seating the light guide, tuck the harness into the two seatback gaps to conceal it.
- The source connects the seat ambient-light harness adapter to the footwell-light connector beneath the seat and secures the harness. The photograph does not identify pin functions or a complete connection map for the module and all harnesses in the product picture. Obtain the connection map for the actual kit; do not assign functions from the photographed wire colors.
Troubleshooting
-
Neither seatback's ambient lighting illuminates: check whether the factory footwell ambient lights illuminate. Close the doors securely and use the front overhead-light controls to disable the function that switches on interior lighting when a door opens. Restore the factory footwell-light connections and check whether the footwell ambient lighting works. If not, the source calls for ambient-light addressing/learning without giving a tool or procedure; obtain that procedure for the actual vehicle and kit before attempting it. If it works, check the adapter for bent, deformed or missing pins. Check whether the ambient-light unit or light guide has become detached.
-
Neither side of one seatback illuminates: compare the footwell ambient lights beneath both seats. Compare the adapters for abnormalities. Check whether the ambient-light unit or light guide has become detached.
-
One side of one seatback does not illuminate: check whether the ambient-light unit or light guide has become detached.
-
Seatback ambient-light brightness is uneven: check whether the light units are fully seated and whether the light guides are twisted or detached.
