Original English guide from the CKCP tutorial centre. Check your vehicle, equipment and connector version before installation.

The source labels this retrofit as suitable for 2015–2018 Mercedes-Benz GT290 and describes Bluetooth phone-app control of the ambient-light effects. The product photograph uses the label “AMG GT-W290” and describes 64-color front air vents. These source labels do not establish the exact chassis, trim or kit compatibility. Confirm the vehicle and kit combination before installation.

The source requires adjustment of the retrofit vents and transfer of existing vent components. It does not specify trimming dimensions, adjustment limits or final retention criteria. Obtain those details before modifying parts. The photo captions below are translated in their original panel order; the existing embedded English captions contain errors and should not be used as installation instructions.

1. Product and preparation

Figure 1 shows six front vents, two footwell lights, one module, lighting wiring and four vent caps. These are the visible contents of the source photograph, rather than a verified packing list. Its numbered component key is:

  • 01: Illuminated front air vents.
  • 02: Footwell lights.
  • 03: Ambient-light module.
  • 04: Vent-lighting wiring harness.
  • 05: Vent caps.

The QR code on the module is labeled as the app QR code. Before placing the module, the source instructs the installer to scan that code to download the app or search for the Baoliandeng app on the phone. The source does not provide an independently verified app-store link or current app version.

When splicing the module power and ground connections, do not reverse polarity. Confirm that the connections are correct and secure. The source does not provide the vehicle-specific power-isolation procedure, connector pinout, circuit rating or splice specification; confirm these before electrical work.

2. Wiring overview

Figure 2 shows the layout of the vent lights and footwell lights, with their wiring routed toward the module in the center-console area. The source diagram labels the module, the power/ground connection, six vent lights and two footwell lights. Its red dashed lines illustrate the routing; they are not a connector pinout or a circuit-rating specification.

3. Remove the existing air vents

Figure 3 contains nine panels. Read them from top to bottom:

  1. Open the center armrest storage compartment.
  2. Use a plastic trim tool to pry up the trim cover.
  3. Use a T20 tool to remove the two center-console retaining screws.
  4. Use a plastic trim tool to lift the trim panel beneath the central vents.
  5. Disconnect the connector from the center-console climate-control panel.
  6. Lift out the center-console assembly and disconnect its connectors.
  7. Use a T20 tool to remove the two central-vent retaining screws.
  8. Release the retaining tabs with a plastic trim tool and remove the central-vent assembly.
  9. Remove the two side-vent assemblies.

4. Assemble the illuminated air vents

Central vents and control knobs

Figure 4 contains nine panels, from top to bottom:

  1. Use a T20 tool to remove the retaining screws from the central-vent assembly.
  2. Compare the retrofit vent with the existing vent and adjust it as required. The source gives no dimensions or limits for this work.
  3. Reference view of the four central retrofit vents after adjustment.
  4. Disassemble the existing vent-control knob assembly and transfer it to the illuminated vents.
  5. Press the two retaining tabs at the bottom of the knob assembly to remove it.
  6. Take out the supplied mounting bracket marked “205”; “G205” is visible on the photographed part. This part marking does not establish compatibility with another vehicle model.
  7. Assemble the knob components, adjusting the retaining-tab positions as required by the source.
  8. Close-up reference for retaining-tab adjustment during transfer of the knob assembly.
  9. Clip the transferred knob assembly into the gap between the vents and secure it.

Retaining bracket, light units and side-vent trim

Figure 5 contains seven panels, from top to bottom:

  1. Fit the existing vent-retaining bracket onto the central retrofit vents.
  2. Use a T20 tool to tighten the central-vent bracket screws. The source supplies no tightening torque.
  3. Reference view of the assembled central vents.
  4. Fit the wired light unit into the light guide.
  5. Release the inner locking ring of the existing vent to allow transfer of the outer trim ring.
  6. Release the outer trim ring and transfer it to the illuminated vent assembly.
  7. Assemble the outer trim ring, then fit the inner locking ring supplied with the kit.

The original caption describes assembly of the outer trim ring; it does not say that the ring is broken. Confirm the adjustment and retention requirements before completing reassembly.

5. Route and connect the lighting wiring

Figure 6 contains six panels, from top to bottom:

  1. Route the wiring for the side vents through the existing vehicle gaps. The labels identify the left and right vent light units and the left and right front footwell lights.
  2. Reference routing for the left-side vent wiring through the existing gap; the circled label identifies the light unit.
  3. Remove the lower trim panel to replace the existing footwell light. The labels identify the footwell light, footwell-light wiring and one-to-two adapter connector.
  4. Reference routing for the right-side vent wiring through the existing gap. The labels identify the central-vent lighting wiring, the male connector for the vent-lighting harness and the side-vent light unit.
  5. The source identifies the power connector inside the center console as the connection location for the module power and ground.
  6. At the vehicle connector shown in this photograph, the original caption identifies the red wire as ACC supply and the brown wire as ground. It does not establish the colors or pinout of every module harness or every vehicle.

Confirm the actual vehicle circuit and kit pinout before making a connection. Do not identify a circuit from color alone. The source does not specify the circuit rating, fuse protection, connector cavities, power-isolation procedure or approved splice method.

6. Installed appearance

Figure 7 shows red and purple illuminated vents in the source vehicle. These photographs illustrate appearance; they do not verify electrical operation, all 64 colors, app compatibility or the completed installation checks. The infotainment-screen messages are not installation steps.

7. Troubleshooting

The source lists the following checks. It does not provide a complete vehicle-specific diagnostic procedure.

  1. Vents do not light up: check the module power and ground connections and the splices into the existing power and ground wiring.
  2. App cannot connect: the source suggests trying another phone or another Bluetooth app, and checking the app's Bluetooth permission. It does not identify a tested alternative app.
  3. Uneven brightness: check that the light units are seated and that the light guides are not broken.
  4. Different vent colors: select red, blue and green in the app and check whether a light unit is missing one of the primary colors. The source lists a light-unit fault or pinched wiring causing a short or open circuit as possible causes; these observations alone are not a confirmed diagnosis.
  5. Central vents do not seat correctly: inspect for deformation or retaining tabs that are not seated. The source calls for appropriate adjustment to avoid compression, but does not specify the adjustment limits or final retention criteria. Obtain those details before further modification.
