Vehicle and kit scope
The source guide covers 2023–2024 Mercedes-Benz GLC254 vehicles that have factory ambient lighting but lack illuminated front air vents. The product illustration is labeled 2023. Confirm the exact vehicle equipment and kit version before installation; the source does not establish compatibility across all markets or later model years.
The source describes a replacement upgrade without routine programming for this configuration. This does not establish the compatibility of a different module or a vehicle without factory ambient lighting. The electrical isolation procedure and connector cavity assignments are not provided; obtain the instructions for the exact vehicle and kit before wiring.
1. Product and numbered parts
The source illustration identifies: 01 five front air-vent assemblies; 02 front air-vent lighting harness; 03 module adapter harness; 04 ambient-lighting module, listed as optional when the air vents are installed separately. The module label and its exact variant need to be checked against the supplied kit.
2. Harness routing and installation branches
The source text places the front-vent driver module at the front-right footwell-light location. The installation photograph distinguishes a separate front/rear vent installation connected at the right-front footwell light from installation together with an aftermarket ambient-lighting system, where the vent lighting harness joins that system's harness.
These are kit-dependent branches. The source does not explain the exact module option for each branch or supply connector pinouts. Confirm the matching driver, adapter and connector arrangement with CKCP before joining any wires. Do not infer connector cavities or a universal wire-color mapping from the routing photograph.
3. Illustrated installation sequence
The source photographs show these mechanical operations:
- Pull each factory front air vent straight outward in the illustrated direction; the illustrated vent attachment has no screws.
- Remove all five factory non-illuminated front air vents.
- Keep the two larger outer vents in their correct left and right positions. The three smaller center vents are the same size in the source illustration.
- Install the illuminated front vents. The source also illustrates fitting a light board and its retaining housing; confirm whether the supplied kit contains complete illuminated assemblies or components requiring this additional assembly.
- Seat the light board at the illustrated mounting position, fit the retaining housing fully, and secure it as shown. The source illustrates reinforcement with adhesive tape but does not specify the tape or retaining-material requirements.
- Use a guide wire to route the vent lighting extension harness along the illustrated path. Confirm that the wiring does not obstruct the louvers before refitting the vents.
4. Lighting functions
The source describes 64 single colors, 10 multicolor themes and dynamic multicolor operation, in which zoned light sources alternate colors within the selected theme. These describe the illustrated factory ambient-lighting configuration. Menu labels and availability need to match the vehicle's actual system.
The source effect-menu photograph shows Exit warning and Dynamic multicolor. Its screenshots illustrate menu context; they do not establish a different brightness-control layout or additional functions for this kit.

6. Troubleshooting
- One vent has a different color: inspect its light-head harness for a loose connection. The source suggests reconnecting and comparing light heads/connectors. Confirm component compatibility before any substitution; replace a component only after the fault is identified.
- All front vents differ from the selected single color: inspect the main harness connection for a loose or displaced terminal. Confirm the harness arrangement before replacing it.
- No front vents illuminate: inspect routing for pinched or damaged wiring and check that the module and adapter connectors are correctly seated. The source does not provide electrical test values; obtain the correct diagnostic procedure before substituting a harness or module.
- The louvers will not close: inspect for wiring obstruction and incorrect louver assembly. Correct the obstruction; replace the individual vent assembly only if it is damaged.
- If the fault remains, contact CKCP support with the vehicle configuration, kit/module details and the affected step.
