Scope and review status

The archived source identifies this kit with the 2016–2023 Mercedes-Benz E-Class 213. It illustrates replacement door-lock hardware and an electric soft-close function. The source does not verify every year, body style, door position, market, or kit revision within that range.

Local review status: HOLD. The illustrated actions are source references. Exact fastener torque, electrical terminal assignments, isolation/reconnection procedure, glass support details, and mechanical-key/emergency-release instructions remain unconfirmed.

Source troubleshooting and release references

The source lists four separate help topics. Their archived URLs are generic WeChat article endpoints without article identifiers, so the methods cannot be recovered from these links. These archive references identify the missing material and do not open a Chinese help page:

  1. Archive reference N1 — Door movement and latch/striker interference: the door pulls in and then pops back out, rises during soft closing, shakes when opened, or the latch contacts the striker when closed.
  2. Archive reference N2 — Mechanical-key operation: the source requires checking that the mechanical key opens the door normally; its referenced method is missing.
  3. Archive reference N3 — Emergency release: the source requires testing emergency unlocking; its referenced procedure is missing.
  4. Archive reference N4 — Motor runs but the door does not pull closed: the source names this fault but its detailed diagnostic method is missing.

Do not treat these missing references or a single successful closing test as completed release and operating checks.

1. Door-panel preparation and removal — source Step 1

CKCP Soft-Close Door Installation Guide for Mercedes-Benz E-Class 213 — image 1

Before removal, the source asks installers to check the existing vehicle functions and record the original positions of the door-panel power and wiring connectors so they can be returned to the correct locations.

The first three source panels show switching the ignition on, removing the door-trim screws, and removing the trim panel. Later panels switch the ignition off after positioning and releasing the glass. This depicted sequence is not an electrical isolation procedure; the correct power state for electrical work remains to be confirmed.

2. Glass access and outer handle — source Steps 1–2

CKCP Soft-Close Door Installation Guide for Mercedes-Benz E-Class 213 — image 2

The continuation of source Step 1 shows:

  1. Disconnecting the inner door-handle cable and removing the rubber access plug.
  2. Lowering the window regulator to the illustrated removal position.
  3. Loosening the glass retaining screws at two locations.
  4. Switching off the ignition, then disconnecting the illustrated wiring harness.

Source Step 2 then shows loosening the mechanical-key lock-cylinder retaining screw, removing the lock cylinder, and removing the outer door handle. The source does not identify screw sizes, torque, every harness connector, or a verified method for supporting the released glass.

3. Original lock and handle bracket — source Step 3

CKCP Soft-Close Door Installation Guide for Mercedes-Benz E-Class 213 — image 3

The source shows the following sequence:

  1. Release the outer door-handle bracket and remove the original lock-assembly screws.
  2. Lift the window glass, then secure it. The “lift the glass” caption is absent from the current English image; the action remains in the source photo.
  3. Remove the sound-insulation panel, then remove the lock assembly together with the outer-handle bracket.
  4. Disconnect the original lock assembly from the outer-handle bracket, retaining the bracket for the illustrated installation.
  5. Release the two further connections shown in the final close-up panels. The source labels both only as “disconnect the connection”; it does not identify their individual cable/retainer names or release technique.

The photo of supported glass does not provide an approved support material, load limit, or detailed glass-handling procedure.

4. Mechanical-key and outer-handle cables — source Steps 4–5

Source Step 4 identifies the mechanical-key cable, illustrates its connection to the retained bracket, and emphasizes that the waterproof rubber boot must be fully seated at the marked location.

Source Step 5 shows releasing the illustrated mounting point, fitting the outer door-handle cable, and returning the handle mechanism to its mounting position. Several panels repeat the same general caption; exact cable-end attachment and retainer engagement still require source clarification rather than an inferred procedure.

5. Soft-close lock, handle and harness — source Steps 6–7

CKCP Soft-Close Door Installation Guide for Mercedes-Benz E-Class 213 — image 5

Source Step 6 shows:

  1. Installing the retained outer-handle bracket and the soft-close lock, then securing each with its illustrated screws.
  2. Comparing incorrect and correct handle-cable routing. The correct route is described as smooth, without bends, kinks or tangles.
  3. Refitting the outer door handle, tightening its retaining screw, and refitting the blanking plug.

Source Step 7 begins with an unlabelled preparation photo. It then instructs applying lubricant to the connector labelled 9P and fitting that connector. Here 9P is the source connector label; it is not a command to connect electrical terminal No. 9. The lubricant specification, amount and exact application location are not provided and remain unresolved.

6. Harness, window glass and power — source Steps 7–9

CKCP Soft-Close Door Installation Guide for Mercedes-Benz E-Class 213 — image 6

The continuation of source Step 7 shows connecting the 9P plug, refitting the inner-handle cable, taking up the 9P harness, and refitting the sound-insulation panel. The original caption says to pull the harness tight; allowable tension and routing clearance are not defined, so it does not establish an approved strain or pulling force.

Source Step 8 shows lowering the glass into place, tightening its retaining screws at both locations, refitting the access plug, and applying cloth-backed tape. Glass alignment, screw torque and restoration of the protective seal are not specified.

Source Step 9 shows:

  1. A power-connection clip that must be securely connected; the source warns that a loose connection can cause a fault.
  2. Taking power at the door module and measuring the +12 V supply and ground. The photo does not establish the exact terminal, wire function, circuit protection or permissible connection method for each vehicle version.
  3. Connecting the controller and applying double-sided tape.
  4. Mounting the controller between the dust shield and the inner door panel, rather than on the outermost sheet-metal door skin, as stated in the source.

These source descriptions do not authorize guessing the supply terminal, connector cavity, polarity, fuse protection, or controller mounting clearance.

7. Central locking and trim-panel connections — source Steps 9–10

The last panel of source Step 9 shows mating the illustrated harness with the factory central-locking connector, then organizing the wiring.

Source Step 10 shows:

  1. Seating the part labelled as the door light in the marked position; the source mentions pressing it downward if it is tight. Its precise component identity and permissible force are not established by the caption alone.
  2. Installing the inner-handle spring and cable, securing the spring, and pulling the handle to check that the spring is retained.
  3. Reconnecting the connector labelled “门头” in the source and then the trim-panel wiring. The current English “door-top connector” is not a verified component identification; the connector identity remains unresolved.

Return connector positions to the recorded original locations. The source does not provide a complete terminal-by-terminal reconnection list.

8. Final source actions and operating checks — source Steps 10–11

CKCP Soft-Close Door Installation Guide for Mercedes-Benz E-Class 213 — image 8

The continuation of source Step 10 shows refitting the interior trim panel. It then specifies pulling the inner door handle fully, holding it for 3 seconds, and repeating twice. The present English image replaces this instruction with “Test, installation complete.” This source action is restored here as a reference; the source does not explain its purpose or establish whether it applies to every kit version.

Source Step 11 calls for:

  1. Checking the window raise/lower function.
  2. Applying the child-lock label after a rear-door installation. The label does not itself demonstrate that child-lock operation was tested or establish the correct rear-door procedure.
  3. Bringing the door to the first latch position and checking soft closing, followed by central-locking and related door functions, including the window regulator and keyless entry.

The existing English image omits the first-latch soft-close test and keyless-entry example. These checks are restored as source requirements, not as a claim that this installation passed them. The mechanical-key and emergency-release checks described under archive references N2 and N3 also remain outstanding until their exact methods and results are available.
