Internal review draft — vehicle and electrical approval remains open.
Scope and product identification
The written source names the Mercedes-Benz C Coupe 205, model years 2016–2024, and describes assembly replacement using adapter wiring with the original ambient-lighting function. The product image and both video title cards instead state 2016–2023. The 2024 extension is unresolved; these source claims do not confirm every year, market, steering side or audio/lighting configuration.
The pictured kit contains:
- Left and right 4D rotating tweeter assemblies, shown with illuminated rings. The image describes 64 colors.
- Rotation drive modules and adapter harnesses. The photographed stickers read C/E/S/GLC/GLE, (4D), Rotation drive module, CKCP V1.1, 2024/06/11. The multi-model sticker is a component identifier, not proof of fitment for other vehicles. Small original harness labels remain visible and require faithful English annotation.
Installation sequence shown in the archived videos
This is a navigation summary of the exact archived C Coupe source demonstration, not an approved electrical procedure. V1 is archive 241; V2 is archive 030. Their title cards, timing and media IDs differ, so timestamps and source versions must be checked separately. The source vehicle has aftermarket ambient lighting; its one-to-two lighting harness must not be assumed present on every car.
- Tools and screws, approximately 00:13–00:43. The source identifies a trim tool, a T30 driver and a small flathead screwdriver. It shows removal of a small cover to reach one T30 screw, then a second T30 screw at the other illustrated location. No tightening torque is supplied.
- Door panel, approximately 00:44–01:15. The demonstrator releases lower panel clips, brings the panel away and disengages the retained upper/tweeter area. Clip geometry and the intended direction must be followed in the source views; the summary does not establish a force or lever point for a different trim.
- Handle cable, approximately 01:16–01:24. The source lifts the cable out of its slot and releases its retainer before separating the panel.
- Original connectors, approximately 01:25–01:41. Release the tweeter speaker connector and the two blue connectors described as No. 5 and No. 6. These are connection/socket identifiers in the demonstration, not terminal numbers and not five-pin/six-pin instructions. Record the actual matching connector orientation; no approved cavity map is supplied.
- Adapter harness, approximately 01:42–01:56. The module adapter is inserted at the original blue door-control No. 5 connection, and the original connector is reconnected through the adapter. The different No. 6 connection must not be substituted for No. 5.
- Module placement, approximately 01:57–02:14. Double-sided tape is used to secure the module at the illustrated door location. The demonstration provides no validated clearance, strain-relief, water-path or electrical-isolation specification.
- Three tweeter lead groups, approximately 02:15–02:37. The rotating-tweeter assembly has a motor-drive lead, a speaker lead and an ambient-lighting connection. The Chinese caption explicitly calls the motor-drive connector 5P; match it with the corresponding module lead. This is separate from the blue door-control No. 5 socket. Connect the tweeter speaker lead to the original tweeter speaker connection. The English videos' “5B” wording is incorrect.
- Ambient lighting, approximately 02:37–02:56. The demonstrated car has an aftermarket one-to-two ambient-lighting harness. The demonstrator identifies the door-panel/handle-light wiring and connects the matching lighting lead, retaining the branch needed for the original lamp. Configuration and polarity for other kits are unconfirmed.
- Reconnect panel wiring, approximately 02:58–03:21. With the rotating tweeter held inverted at the door, reconnect the handle light, door-panel light and tweeter speaker at their original matching positions. The source does not instruct rotating the door itself backwards.
- Handle and module, approximately 03:23–03:39. Refit the handle/cable retainer as demonstrated and move the module slightly upward to clear the panel. “One layer” in V2 is not a measured mounting specification.
- Tweeter hooks and panel, approximately 03:47–04:10. Align the clips, the tweeter's two hooks and the corresponding slot, then lift and seat the panel as shown. Exact clip replacement rules and final screw torque are not provided.
- Function check, approximately 04:11–04:19. The demonstration tests the installation before fitting the screws, then checks the function again. An approved power/reconnection sequence and diagnostic acceptance criteria are still required.
- Lighting menus, approximately 04:20–04:53. The demonstrated head unit uses Vehicle → Vehicle settings → Ambient lighting. The source shows brightness levels 0–5, with 5 described as brightest and 0 as off, and a three-color interface used to change the tweeter colors. The Chinese source explicitly says 64 colors; V1's “four colors” is a translation error, not a revised product specification.
- Rotation check, approximately 04:54–05:12. The source describes opening on ignition/key-on and retracting on ignition/key-off, rather than continuous rotation. This remains a source demonstration requiring vehicle-specific acceptance; the final logo/outro and generated repeated narration are not evidence of extra operating steps.
Existing English videos
V1 — archive 241. English captions/narration contain “main rendering tweeter body,” “electrode drive line,” “5B,” unclear door-orientation wording and “four colors.” Several long sentences are split across timed subtitle cues; displayed fragments must be reviewed for timing and readability rather than assumed to be missing text. The opening also presents later screw instructions while the title/tool views are on screen. These require correction and complete playback/listening verification.
V2 — archive 030. The first 90 seconds of the English subtitle and voice script repeat “Chinese, Chinese…” instead of translating the introduction, tools, screw removal, panel/cable and initial connector work. Later motor-drive wording still says “5B.” The outro repeats ignition wording over the logo. The original video remains associated as an additional exact-source version; it does not replace V1 or its historical publication record.
Result and troubleshooting
The original result link contains only the generic WeChat article prefix and no article identifier. A separate effect video cannot be established from that link. The operating checks above come from the installation source and must not be relabeled as a recovered effect video.
The original written source has an empty troubleshooting heading. It supplies no fault-diagnosis instructions, approved pinout, DIP setting, coding procedure or battery-isolation requirement; none has been invented for this guide.
Review required before release
Confirm the 2016–2023 versus 2016–2024 range and the exact vehicle, lighting/audio configuration and kit revision; approve the electrical diagram, isolation/reconnection procedure and coding/DIP requirements; verify mechanical placement, cable clearance and screw torques. Correct both video translations and timing, review all spoken audio and continuous footage, localize navigation and harness labels faithfully, and complete desktop/mobile page and media playback checks. Local HOLD remains in effect.
