This guide covers the two-seat kit identified in the archived tutorial for 2022–2024 Mercedes-Benz C-Class C206 models. It uses door-panel touch switches. The original tutorial describes the kit as requiring no programming or coding; that statement has not been independently verified for every vehicle configuration.
Without foam replacement means retaining the original seat foam, not leaving it untouched. The pictured procedure separates the upholstery from the original foam, marks fan positions, and makes openings in that foam. The archive does not provide approved hole dimensions, cutting depths, or clearance limits. Confirm these for the exact seat and kit before altering the foam.
1. Identify the kit components
The numbered picture identifies:
- Seat-cushion heating pad.
- Backrest heating pad.
- Sealing cloth.
- Ventilation mesh.
- Fan assembly.
- Main power harness.
- Driver-side touch switch.
- Passenger-side touch switch.
- Touch-switch connecting cable.
The two pictured boxes are labelled as C206 seat ventilation/heating control modules. The picture's item 10 repeats the connecting-cable description and conflicts with the pictured boxes; confirm the kit list rather than identifying a controller from that repeated legend. Driver/passenger labels do not establish left/right fitment for every market.
2. Wiring layout and connector identification
Archived wiring diagram for both seats, 2022–2024 C206
The attachment remains the original Chinese diagram. It shows touch switches connected through the factory door connectors to ventilation/heating control boxes, with separate fan and heating-pad branches and a supply connection labelled as the factory cigarette-lighter socket. Some outer door labels repeat the left-door designation even where the switch label says right front door. These labels require correction before the diagram can serve as an English installation reference.
The five harness labels in the original photograph are:
- Door pass-through pin lead.
- Heating connector.
- Fan connector.
- Power adapter connector.
- Control-module connector.
The illustrated connection sequence is:
- Locate the pictured factory supply socket beneath the passenger-side dashboard.
- Identify the left and right kit adapter branches shown at that supply point. The photographs show the three-way adapter connections and the remaining connector returning to the factory socket.
- Follow the red route shown from the dashboard area to the two seats, and identify the ventilation/heating harness branches beneath each seat.
- Route the touch-switch lead through the pictured door-connector area and inside the door panel.
The photographs show connector shapes and routing, but do not specify terminal cavity numbers, wire polarity, fuse rating, or test values. Use the exact approved wiring information for the kit before making an electrical connection. A white module visible in the bottom photograph is identified by the existing side note as a rotating-tweeter module; it is not evidence that this other module belongs to the seat kit.
3. Seat, backrest panel, and headrest access
These photographs document access to the seat upholstery. The archive does not supply the complete vehicle procedure for seat restraint connectors, electrical isolation, seat mounting fasteners, or refitting torque.
- The first photograph marks the lower trim/fastener areas, followed by the seat removed from the vehicle.
- Release the four indicated clips of the backrest trim panel. The original caption then shows the panel being withdrawn rearward.
- Open the small cover at the headrest base. The illustrated fastener is specifically labelled T45; this is a tool designation, not a torque value.
- Follow the numbered direction arrows for headrest removal, then release the small trim panel at the headrest opening.
4. Separate the upholstery from the original foam
- Release the indicated backrest fasteners and the hooks at both sides.
- Release the clips beneath the upholstery on both sides to access the backrest cover.
- Release the illustrated clips joining the original foam to the upholstery.
- At the seat base, the sequence identifies a rivet, additional retaining clips, and a small trim piece. The archive does not give a rivet-removal method or replacement specification.
- Release the retaining clips around the cushion perimeter and separate the cover from the original foam. Retain the foam for the procedure in this guide.
5. Position the fans, mesh, and sealing materials
The original illustrations show these stages for the backrest and cushion:
- Use the fan sleeve to establish the pictured fan position against the seat structure and foam.
- Mark the position on the original foam. Openings are shown after marking; their dimensions and permitted cutting depth are not supplied in the archive.
- Lay and secure the ventilation mesh over the prepared foam.
- Position and secure the mesh and fan sleeve with the pictured sealing cloth.
- Fit the fan to its sleeve and reinforce it with the shown cable ties.
- Repeat the depicted positioning and mesh/sleeve sequence for the cushion. The source caption means take out the fan sleeve and align it to the marked position, not remove an already installed sleeve.
- Route the two adapter leads down to the underside of the seat along the yellow arrows.
The photographs do not document the heating-pad installation sequence, approved adhesive or fastening method, or final upholstery/seat reassembly checks. Those instructions must be completed for this exact kit before this guide can support a complete installation.
6. Door-panel touch-button replacement
The exact archived tutorial contains a Chinese source clip for this operation. Sampled frames show the door control panel removed, its rear housing/circuit board accessed, a replacement touch-button assembly and lead, and the panel reassembled. A verified English video for this tutorial is not yet bound to the English package. The clip is not a seat-foam replacement video.
The complete removal/reassembly sequence, spoken instructions, and connector details still require review before they can be presented as a finished English procedure. An installation-results demonstration was not included in the archived demonstration section.
7. Troubleshooting checks from the original tutorial
Fan does not respond
- Check the power supply to the fan harness.
- Check for poor contact at the fan connector terminals.
- Check the controller.
Abnormal fan noise
- Check whether the fan is seated correctly.
- Check whether the cable ties are too tight.
Insufficient airflow
- Check whether the felt/sealing cloth closes tightly without gaps.
- Check whether the silicone sleeve is leaking air.
These are the source tutorial's inspection points. It does not provide electrical thresholds, a fault-code procedure, or confirmed repair outcomes.
