This guide follows the archived CKCP dashboard and four-door active ambient-lighting demonstration for E214/W214. The kit illustration is labelled 2024–2025 W214 and 64-color active ambient lighting; the video introduction uses an E-Class “2023–present” label. These source labels do not establish fitment for every year or equipment configuration. Confirm the exact vehicle and kit revision before installation.

The source demonstrates light-guide replacement and module arrangement. It does not supply a complete vehicle service procedure, approved wiring diagram or functional acceptance test. The electrical connection and fastening details identified below remain subject to technical confirmation.

Kit identification

The original illustration numbers these components 01–09:

  1. Dashboard RGB light strip.
  2. Four door RGB light strips.
  3. Four door receiver modules, identified for front left, front right, rear left and rear right. Their labels show Rx 2.4G.
  4. Cabin main module, labelled Tx 2.4G and W214, with a right-front-footwell identification on the original label.
  5. W214 center-console protocol converter.
  6. Main-module-to-protocol-converter connecting lead.
  7. Dashboard RGB-strip extension lead.
  8. Front-door control/blind-spot adapter lead.
  9. Main-module/protocol-converter power adapter leads.

The physical module photograph labels a port SP14, while the video caption names SIP4. This discrepancy must be resolved against the supplied module revision before connecting an active light strip. The illustration does not identify a “thermal control module.”

Dashboard light-strip replacement

The archived video covers this portion at approximately 00:07–02:36.

  1. Release the two side retaining clips of the cover in the area demonstrated. The presenter shows creating clearance at the camera-cover area and warns against levering against the leather surface. Follow the correct vehicle trim-removal procedure; the recording does not establish a general camera disassembly method.
  2. Disconnect the two rear plugs shown and remove the four screws identified in the recording. Release the dashboard assembly retainers. The lower engagement shown around 01:18 must be distinguished from the current English caption's instruction to press upward, which conflicts with the Chinese caption and needs correction before the video can be relied upon.
  3. Remove the original light strip. Clean away broken clip remnants from the mounting area before fitting the replacement; the source specifically refers to broken clips, rather than simply cleaning intact clips.
  4. Start seating the replacement near the middle, secure the corners and continue outward along the mounting points. Engage the side hook first where demonstrated, then seat the remaining clips so the strip sits flush.
  5. Keep the lead clear of the retainers. The source shows the fitting sequence but does not specify tightening torque, clip force or a complete final dashboard retention check.

Front-door light-guide replacement

The video covers front-door trim work at approximately 02:36–05:50. It begins with the door trim already removed from the vehicle; complete on-vehicle door-panel removal is not demonstrated.

  1. With the removed door trim supported, release the rear clips and screws shown. Lift the black trim panel and separate the silver trim/light-guide assembly in the demonstrated order, noting the hooked retaining clip underneath.
  2. Release the white light-guide retaining clips and remove the original guide.
  3. Identify the front-door replacement strip by the black tape around it. The rear-door replacement shown later is unwrapped; do not interchange the front and rear pieces by appearance alone.
  4. The presenter makes a small adjustment to a retaining area/groove to prevent the lead being compressed. The permitted cut location, depth and amount are not defined by the source. Obtain the exact kit's mechanical instructions before altering trim or clips.
  5. Seat the replacement along the guide channel. In the front-door assembly demonstrated, the light-emitting side faces upward and the rear of the strip seats in the groove. This is specific to that assembly; the rear-door orientation is demonstrated separately below.
  6. Route the connection toward the front edge of the door trim and keep it clear of clips. Refit the guide and trim in their retained positions. The source identifies the front edge as the connection direction for all four doors.

Module arrangement and connection identification

The video covers modules and adapter leads at approximately 05:50–07:46.

  1. Separate the cabin main module and the long protocol converter from the four door receiver modules. The presenter groups six modules in total. Match the door receivers to the FL, FR, RL and RR positions shown on their labels.
  2. The cabin pair is demonstrated with an adapter at the right-front-footwell lamp. This describes the source arrangement; an approved diagram must identify the exact compatible connector and circuit for the vehicle/kit revision.
  3. The blue adapter is described in the Chinese source as the factory blind-spot connection. “Full point” in the current English video is a mistranslation.
  4. The recording describes a connector identified as “4” and a terminal position identified as “6,” then shows transferring the original terminal through the supplied adapter. It also counts a small adapter terminal to the third position from the yellow-wire end. These are source references, not an independently verified pinout: connector identity, numbered cavity, viewing direction, circuit function and terminal-locking procedure remain unconfirmed. Do not repin a connector using these descriptions alone.
  5. The presenter uses a factory ambient-light connector at the door-handle lamp as an adapter example. The example does not prove that any lamp connector or circuit is interchangeable.
  6. The source distinguishes the active-strip connection from the ports labelled RGB1, RGB2 and RGB3. However, the SP14/SIP4 label conflict above remains unresolved. Confirm the exact port and module version before making the connection.

Rear-door light-guide replacement

The video covers rear-door trim work at approximately 07:46–09:44.

  1. Starting with the rear door trim already removed, release its rear clips and screws. Separate the black trim, silver trim and white light guide in the order demonstrated.
  2. Release the guide retainers and remove the original light guide. Use the rear-door replacement identified earlier.
  3. In the rear assembly demonstrated, press the raised light-emitting side down into the groove. This rear assembly differs from the front-door orientation described above; match each replacement to its demonstrated channel rather than applying one direction to both assemblies.
  4. Direct the lead toward the front edge of the door trim, then route it clear of the retaining points and refit the guide/trim.
  5. The closing narration refers generally to refastening and screws, and the current English video says to “weld back” parts. The recording does not establish the fastening method, material, equipment or settings. An approved retention procedure is required; the phrase must not be treated as a complete welding or heat-staking instruction.

Questions answered by the demonstration

How are the front and rear strips distinguished? The front strip shown is wrapped in black tape; the rear strip is unwrapped. Check the assigned part and channel as well as its appearance.

Which way do the door leads face? The presenter places the connections toward the front edge on all four door trims and keeps the wiring out of the retaining points.

Why does a strip or trim fail to sit flush? The source draws attention to broken clip remnants, the side hook and pressure on the lead at a retaining area. Inspect those demonstrated points. It does not give a general cutting specification or authorize removing sound clips.

Does the guide prove the electrical port or terminal numbers? It records the demonstrated labels and counts, but it does not resolve SP14 versus SIP4 or independently verify the wiring diagram. Confirm the exact hardware before connection.

English installation video

The current English video still requires caption/voice correction and a complete watch-and-listen review. In particular, the opening “Subtitle organization” text, dashboard clip direction, broken-clip wording and blind-spot translation are not reliable as rendered.

Effect display and fault diagnosis

The original tutorial leaves its effect-display and troubleshooting sections empty. No separate source-bound effect demonstration, verified 64-color/function test or diagnostic procedure is supplied here. This guide therefore does not establish successful operation, coding requirements or a fault remedy.
