Application and controls described by the source
The archived tutorial describes a 12-color ambient lighting upgrade for GLA156 vehicles from 2013 to 2019, including vehicles without factory ambient lighting and vehicles with single-color or three-color lighting. It also describes multi-zone color effects and control through both the vehicle and a phone app or mini-program. These are the source's stated capabilities; the archive does not establish compatibility for every vehicle, kit revision or equipment configuration.
Before using the vehicle-control instructions, confirm the installed head unit and the matching kit. The source distinguishes two configurations:
- NTG4.5, described for the 2015 model: programming/configuration is required to use the instrument cluster's three-color interface to control the 12-color lighting system.
- NTG5.0, described for the 2016 model and later: programming/configuration is required to use the center display's 12-color interface to control the lighting system.
The source also uses the word “flashing,” but provides no tool, software, coding values, firmware procedure or recovery instructions. The year labels above are source descriptions, not a verified method of identifying NTG versions. In particular, the broad 2013–2019 claim does not resolve the earlier years or a vehicle's actual equipment. The phone app/mini-program name and pairing procedure are also missing.
Installation video and navigation
The English video below is the exact video already associated with this tutorial. Its original recording includes English captions and a CKCP watermark. No different vehicle's video has been substituted.
Use these checked points to locate the relevant areas of the video. They are viewing references, not complete installation steps or chapter boundaries:
- 01:25 — front-door trim/tweeter area: the view shows the removed triangular trim and its rear clips.
- 03:30 — door-panel lighting: the left front door panel is used as the example.
- 09:10 — door-panel light holder: the demonstrator handles the holder behind the panel. The caption's “card this lamp holder back” refers to refitting the holder, not inserting a card.
- 18:36 — front-door wiring: the view shows work around the door connector.
- 24:15 — connector terminals: the demonstrator aligns wires/terminals; the caption says “color-to-color.” This does not establish terminal numbers, connector orientation or circuit functions. Do not treat wire color alone as a pinout.
- 30:50 — center dashboard: the view shows the center trim and controls during refitting.
- 36:40 — function demonstration: the center display shows an ambient-lighting brightness adjustment, with illuminated trim visible. This one view does not verify all 12 colors, every zone or phone control.
The video sidebar names door-panel lighting, center-dashboard lighting, front-door wiring, rear-door wiring, center-dashboard wiring, refitting and functions. The timing of every chapter and the complete action sequence still need review.
Product information, wiring and troubleshooting
The written source contains headings for product pictures and a wiring diagram but supplies neither in this article. It also leaves the programming, function introduction, troubleshooting and code-description sections without detailed instructions. The blank numbered entries are not diagnostic or coding steps.
This guide therefore does not provide a connector pinout, power/CAN connection instructions, coding values, a verified fault tree or a complete removal/refitting procedure. The matching kit diagram and vehicle-specific procedure are required before those details can be completed.
Review still required
The complete video needs continuous picture, caption and audio review. Some sampled captions use unclear terms, and the on-screen vehicle interface remains in Chinese. The old speech-recognition draft contains extensive repeated text and cannot supply missing wiring or coding instructions. Vehicle/kit compatibility, programming prerequisites, connector assignments, app pairing and final functional checks remain unverified.
