Scope and source
This guide follows the archived GLA156 tutorial and its exact linked English video. The source describes a replacement installation for 2013–2019 GLA156 vehicles, retaining the original vehicle circuit and matching the original ambient-lighting function. These are source statements, not verified compatibility for every vehicle, head unit, factory lighting configuration or kit revision.
The video introduces two triangular tweeter assemblies, adapter harnesses and control modules. Its introductory graphic calls the product “4D rotating tweeter.” A pictured module is labeled as a 4D rotation driver, while the English graphic calls it an “Atmosphere Light module.” The module revision and its rotation/lighting responsibilities need confirmation; the label does not establish additional vehicle compatibility.
This is the existing source video with English captions and a CKCP watermark, approximately 6 minutes 59 seconds long. The chapter bar covers tools, door-panel removal, harness connection, door-panel refitting and function explanation. The following times are viewing checkpoints, not verified chapter boundaries or a complete installation procedure.
Video checkpoints
- 00:10 — Identify the supplied components. Compare the two tweeter assemblies, adapter harnesses and modules with the introductory graphic. Confirm the actual kit revision before using its wiring instructions.
- 01:05–01:20 — Door panel and triangular tweeter trim. The installer loosens the door panel, then holds the rear of the triangular tweeter trim beside the exterior mirror. Review the adjacent removal sequence for its retaining clips and connected wiring. The caption “up and in the opposite direction” does not define a safe pulling direction by itself.
- 01:55 — Door-handle cable connection. The rear of the door panel and the blue-sheathed cable are shown. Identify the retaining mechanism in the surrounding footage before releasing it; do not infer the whole operation from “Pinch this blue one.”
- 03:05–03:15 — Adapter harness and door-side connections. The installer presents the module and harness, then works at the door-control unit. Review the exact connectors and keyed plugs shown in this source. Plug color and an old transcript referring to a numbered plug do not establish a terminal or pin assignment.
- 04:00 — Module placement. The installer holds a rectangular module near the door wiring and the caption says to find a place to fix it. The exact mounting point, attachment method and clearance from moving parts remain to be confirmed.
- 04:35 — Reconnect the door-panel harness. The door panel is held near the door-side unit while the harness is reconnected. Check the surrounding sequence for every connector and cable before refitting the panel; this frame is not a complete connection checklist.
- 05:17 — Align and refit the door panel. The installer aligns the upper edge and corner of the panel. The caption “shoot it in and card it” refers to the refitting action and needs clearer wording. Confirm the retaining points and cable clearance rather than treating this caption as a force instruction.
- 06:15 — Find the vehicle settings. The demonstration moves to the infotainment vehicle menu with illuminated interior parts visible. The interface is Chinese; exact English menu names and the supported lighting configuration require confirmation for the actual vehicle.
- 06:33–06:51 — Lighting and tweeter demonstration. The source shows an ambient-lighting brightness screen and an enlarged view of the tweeter, followed by an illuminated effect. Still frames identify this demonstration but do not verify the full rotation cycle, brightness response, all colors, audio output or retention of every original function.
Product images, results and troubleshooting
The archived article contains no separate product or effect images. Its product-picture and effect-display headings are empty, and its troubleshooting section contains only an empty numbered item. Use the component graphic and demonstration within the exact video for orientation; the archive supplies no complete fault tree, coding procedure or electrical diagram.
Review required before release
Confirm the matched kit and vehicle configuration, module version, connector mapping, power/isolation procedure, trim-release direction, module mounting and cable clearance. Complete the exact video's caption and audio review, including unclear cable/connector terminology, panel-refitting wording and Chinese vehicle menus. The defective archived machine transcripts must not be used to fill missing steps. Full continuous sound-and-picture review and technical acceptance remain pending.
