Vehicle and product scope

The archived Chinese article identifies this kit as a 4D rotating tweeter upgrade for 2013–2019 Mercedes-Benz CLA117 models. It describes replacement installation using adapter wiring and synchronization with factory or retrofitted ambient lighting. The original product illustration also refers to synchronization with retrofitted 12-color or 64-color lighting. These are source descriptions; they do not establish compatibility with every vehicle configuration or module revision.

The linked installation video identifies the demonstration vehicle as a 2013–2019 CLA and shows a vehicle with retrofitted ambient lighting. Its demonstrated connection route must not be treated as a separate, verified factory-lighting procedure.

Product reference

Archived kit illustration; its current English vehicle label requires correction

The original illustration numbers the components as follows:

  1. A pair of 4D rotating tweeters.
  2. A 4D rotating drive module.
  3. Adapter wiring.

The current English illustration incorrectly labels the vehicle as “Mercedes-Benz A-Class W177.” The Chinese illustration identifies a 2013–2019 CLA; use the article identity above while that image label awaits correction. The English label over the module also obscures original identification values. The visible original module lists 205/253/213/167/156/222, serial number L_4DRHS02_D1.1 and production date 2025/02/13. CLA117 is absent from that printed list. The kit supplier must confirm the actual CLA117 module and harness version; the shared illustration alone does not resolve this discrepancy.

Installation video and chapter navigation

Watch the existing English installation video

This is the existing video bound to archived article CKCP source archive. The following approximate ranges help locate the demonstration. They restore source content omitted from the short article and from the English video's opening captions; they are not a substitute for confirmed vehicle-specific electrical and removal instructions.

  1. Opening to about 0:35 — Trim and door-panel fasteners. The source introduces the CLA 4D kit, releases the silver door trim and uses a T30 driver at the exposed fasteners. Its text identifies two screws. The current English captions repeat an unrelated “Chinese-Watermarked” title through the first 30 seconds, so they do not explain this opening sequence correctly.
  2. About 0:35–1:00 — Remove the door panel and original tweeter. The source uses a trim tool at the panel gap, releases the panel, disconnects its connections and removes the original tweeter. It shows the detached assembly and the clip on its back. Fastener torque, clip replacement criteria and the vehicle's electrical isolation procedure are not provided.
  3. About 1:00–1:32 — Transfer the yellow clip and connect the speaker wiring. The source pushes down and removes the yellow clip, places it on the replacement tweeter and connects the original black tweeter connector to the supplied matching speaker harness. It then aligns and presses the replacement assembly into its clip position. The English phrase “Press OK” describes this mechanical press; it is not an instruction to press a screen button.
  4. About 1:32–1:48 — Door-module adapter and rotating-drive connection. The source connects the blue adapter at the factory connection it calls “No. 5,” then connects the additional 5P lead to the rotating tweeter's 5P connection. “No. 5” identifies the source's connector position; it does not establish pin 5 or a pinout. The 5P lead is a separate connector description.
  5. About 1:48–2:06 — Retrofitted ambient-lighting branch. The source shows the white connectors of a one-to-two split harness connected to the ambient-light extension wiring. The presenter explicitly identifies this as a retrofitted ambient-lighting example. The source discusses the additional lighting lead and wrapping the wiring; it does not verify the equivalent route for every factory-lighting configuration.
  6. About 2:06–2:14 — Wrap and secure the module. The source wraps the wiring and secures the drive module at the shown location with double-sided tape. The demonstration does not specify a mounting-clearance measurement or a universally approved fixing position.
  7. About 2:14–the closing sequence — Reconnect the door-panel wiring. The source text directs the original blue connector to the adapter's white connector, restores the adapter's red connector, joins the reserved door-panel ambient-light lead to the remaining connection, and describes reconnecting the door-panel pass-through wiring and refitting the panel. The sampled late frame at 2:46 is already an outro graphic; it does not visually verify final panel seating or functional testing.

Review required before release

The article's original result and troubleshooting sections contain no substantive instructions. No fault diagnosis, coding values, DIP settings, power polarity, pin assignments or torque specifications have been added here. Confirm the exact CLA117 kit, the module-label discrepancy, vehicle configuration, connector diagram and factory-versus-retrofit lighting route before applying the demonstration as an installation procedure.

The existing media still require correction and review: the illustration's A-Class W177 label and obscured module data; the English video's repeated opening title; the mechanical “Press OK” wording; and the retained Chinese labels and watermark. Some later English sentences are split across caption cues and require a readability and timing check, rather than an unsupported assumption that words are missing. Complete source-audio listening, continuous audiovisual review and a final functional demonstration remain outstanding. This local text revision does not constitute technical approval or a new public release.
