Guide ID: CKCP source archive.
This guide records the demonstrated conversion from an analog instrument cluster to an LCD instrument cluster. The product image is labeled for the 2015–2021 C-Class W205, while the installation video's opening card lists the 2015–2018 C-Class. Those ranges are source descriptions, not confirmation that every year, body style or cluster configuration uses the same kit. Confirm the exact vehicle and kit revision before using the demonstrated procedure. This source does not establish a separate C205 coupe installation procedure.
The opening video card also lists the 2016–2018 E-Class and 2016–2019 GLC. This C-Class guide does not supply installation or electrical instructions for those vehicles.
1. Product image
Source image 001 · English version
The image identifies item 01 as the multifunction LCD instrument cluster. Its menu, navigation, music, phone, weather, vehicle-information and theme screens illustrate the pictured product. They do not verify software features, phone compatibility or vehicle functions on the kit supplied to you.
2. Installation procedure and video time guide
The following numbered stages recover the sequence described in this guide's own source video and timed source text. Times are approximate navigation points. They describe the demonstrated kit; the source does not provide a complete vehicle service procedure, connector pinout, torque specification or calibration procedure.
-
Prepare access to the cluster — approximately 00:08–00:30. The opening source text lists harness tape, a flat-blade screwdriver and a plastic trim tool. The demonstration lowers the steering wheel to create space, then releases the trim around the cluster. The current English-rendered video has an incorrect numeric subtitle during this introduction, so it does not explain this stage reliably.
-
Remove the original cluster — approximately 00:30–01:03. The source describes using a T20 tool to remove the two accessible retaining screws, pulling the cluster out of its clips and disconnecting the connector on its back. The housing screws and clips are then released. Electrical isolation, connector-lock release and the full vehicle-specific removal procedure are not supplied in this source.
-
Assemble the replacement housing and frame — approximately 01:07–01:52. The replacement frame is clipped to the cluster body. The harness is passed through the housing, and the original frame is aligned and clipped into position. At approximately 01:42–01:52, the demonstrator refits four screws and sets two corner screws aside. That is a detail of the filmed assembly, not a general instruction to leave fasteners out of another kit. Obtain the fastening layout for the actual housing before reproducing this stage.
-
Transfer the original cluster electronics — approximately 01:52–02:43. The source proceeds to the original rear cover, circuit-board fasteners, dial trim, needles and retaining clips before transferring the original panel/electronics into the replacement assembly. This is an internal cluster operation, rather than simply exchanging a complete sealed cluster. The footage and translated captions do not establish an approved needle-removal method, handling precautions or a calibration process. This part requires the correct kit procedure and qualified technical review; the source's force-based wording is not sufficient guidance for dismantling the gauges.
-
Connect the kit adapter — approximately 02:46–03:14. The filmed branch handles the original vehicle connector and a white modified connector, mates the adapter connections and wraps the harness. The transcript's wording about exchanging two white connectors is incomplete. Connector color alone does not identify the correct mating point or terminal arrangement. Use the matched kit wiring instructions; this guide does not authorize repinning, splicing or choosing a connection by color.
-
Route the two USB leads and refit the cluster — approximately 03:14–03:49. The demonstration feeds two USB leads down below the lower dashboard panel, retrieves them from below and refits the cluster. The source does not identify a fixed exit point or a verified clearance route. The routing shown must therefore be checked against the actual vehicle and kit rather than interpreted as permission to place the leads anywhere.
-
Refit the outer trim — approximately 03:49–04:10. The source refits the retaining screws and places the supplied clips at the four corners of the trim before aligning and clipping the outer trim back into position. The final screw specification and fastening checks remain dependent on the actual kit and vehicle procedure.
3. Effect demonstration
The original page has no separate effect-demonstration content. The installation footage ends after refitting; it does not establish a completed check of speed display, warning indicators, mileage, vehicle communication or the illustrated software functions. No coding, mileage-transfer or calibration result is documented here.
4. Troubleshooting and information needed
The source has no symptom-by-symptom troubleshooting procedure. If your kit differs at the housing, original electronics or white adapter connectors, the corresponding video stage does not resolve the difference. Request the exact kit revision, fastening layout and connector diagram before proceeding with that operation. Coding, calibration and vehicle function checks also require the appropriate technical instructions.

Installation videos
This is the existing video associated with the guide's historical publication record. The inspected frames retain Chinese captions and chapter labels; it should not be described as a verified English-language tutorial.
English source video
This is the separately recorded English-rendered version of the same source demonstration. It includes added English subtitles, but the opening approximately 00:00–00:30 contains incorrect numeric text, and Chinese visual captions remain. The complete original and English audio, subtitle timing and technical wording have not been accepted for release.
