Guide ID: CKCP source archive.
The source page identifies this guide as an S-Class 222 illuminated-cover installation guide. The first source image is headed “S-Class (221 / 222) illuminated speaker grille installation instructions.” These are the recorded source labels; they do not establish that the same grille, door trim or fitting procedure works on both chassis. Confirm the actual vehicle and supplied grille before using the illustrated details.
Here, “speaker grille” refers to the cover for the door audio speaker. The English word “horn” in the current image captions is a mistranslation. The six photographs show trim access and mechanical fitting details. They do not supply the lighting harness, control-module connections or a complete door-panel removal procedure.
1. Product and source illustrations
The source has no separate product photograph or parts list in its product section. Its six images appear in the installation section and are retained below in their original order. The image numbers describe the source order; they are not a complete chronological service sequence.
2. Illustrated installation details
- Lower door trim access — image 001. The red box shows a section of door trim being released with a plastic trim tool. The original image also carries the S-Class 221 / 222 speaker-grille heading. It does not identify every retaining point or specify the force or release direction for the entire door panel.
- Three speaker mounting points — image 002. The source caption says to loosen the speaker's three mounting tabs with a trim tool to remove the speaker. The photograph shows the back of the door trim and the speaker assembly. This caption concerns the door audio speaker, not the vehicle horn. The source does not document its connector release or a complete approved speaker-removal method.
- Armrest switch trim access — image 003. The red box shows the trim around the door's window switch being lifted. There is no written release instruction in this source image, so the photograph alone does not establish a particular tool angle, clip order or connector action.
- Switch trim lifted — image 004. This photograph shows the switch trim lifted from the armrest, exposing the opening beneath it. It follows image 003 in the source. The source has no caption specifying which connector to unplug, how to release it or whether this stage applies identically to another door configuration.
- Two screw locations — image 005. The source identifies two screws at the red-circled positions: one near the armrest switch opening and one along the exposed lower trim area. This is a location reference, not a complete list of door-panel fasteners. Screw type, tool size, tightening torque and the remaining panel-retention sequence are not supplied.
- Outer perimeter attachment — image 006. The source caption refers to applying adhesive or securing by welding at the outermost perimeter marked by the circle. The red circle is a location marker; it does not identify an electrical coil or a wire to connect. The source does not specify the joining process, approved adhesive, material preparation, application boundary or curing conditions. Obtain the exact kit's attachment instructions before reproducing this permanent operation; the caption alone is insufficient to choose a welding or bonding method.
3. Effect demonstration
The original effect-demonstration section is empty. No photograph or video here demonstrates the illuminated grille operating after installation. Lighting color, control behavior and completed audio or door-switch checks are not documented by these six images.
4. Troubleshooting and missing installation details
The original troubleshooting section is also empty. If the grille, speaker mount, switch trim or screw positions differ from the illustrations, this source does not provide an alternate fitting procedure. Request the actual kit's fitment and attachment instructions, the full door-trim removal/refit procedure and the lighting harness/module diagram. Do not use the outer attachment circle as an electrical connection reference.
Contact the CKCP representative who supplied this guide with the guide ID, vehicle model/year, image number and a photograph of the part or location that differs.
Video availability
This guide's archived source has six images and no video or external video link. No video is confirmed for this guide; footage from a similarly titled tutorial is not a substitute for its own source.
