Scope
This reference follows the four illustrations archived under CKCP source archive. They show seat-cushion fans, backrest fans, connections below the seat, and replacement ventilation controls. “Seat cushion” and “backrest” describe parts of the seat; the illustrations do not establish that these are separate front-seat and rear-seat installations.
The source names the S-Class 222. Confirm the vehicle year, seat equipment, drive configuration, and supplied kit before use. The illustrations omit seat removal, detailed connector identification, a complete wiring diagram, and programming instructions. Some captions in the retained English images differ from the source; the explanations below record the source meaning. The image corrections remain pending.
1. Seat-cushion fans — image 1
The source shows four fan positions in the cushion and openings in the factory-marked locations. Install the fans from the seating side, with their faces slightly below the surrounding white foam. Check the fans from below and keep filling material from obstructing them.
Trim the white ventilation mesh to fit. The source also shows making openings in the factory heating pad to improve airflow. It gives no safe cutting pattern, heater-circuit layout, or inspection procedure for that modification; obtain the exact seat-specific instructions before altering the pad.
2. Backrest fans and controller — image 2
Open the factory-marked positions in the backrest foam and fit the backrest fan assembly as illustrated. Trim the white ventilation mesh to fit. The heating-pad modification is illustrated here too, with the same missing technical detail noted above.
The separate lower photograph shows the controller harness connecting to the factory connector below the seat. It does not identify the connector or its circuit sufficiently to select a connection by appearance alone.
3. Test-box connection and control removal — image 3
The source says to remove the blue connector beneath the seat. It identifies test-box terminal wires 11 and 17 and says to insert them into the corresponding factory positions. These numbers are a transcription of the illustration, not an independently verified pinout: connector identity, orientation, circuit assignments, and vehicle applicability are absent. Verify the exact diagram before using this wiring instruction.
The lower photographs show removing the factory control assembly from the door trim panel and the removed assembly. Release points and fastener details are not supplied.
4. Replacement control and activation — image 4
The source says to plug the factory control connector directly into the replacement control and fit the factory button housing onto it. “Button housing” is the source meaning; it does not instruct fitting an entire trim panel onto the replacement button.
The final photographs show the installed controls. The source states that seat ventilation requires programming activation, otherwise the button indicator will not illuminate. It supplies no programming procedure or values. Obtain the exact kit and vehicle activation instructions and verify operation before treating the installation as complete. A lit indicator alone does not establish correct airflow or electrical operation.
Remaining guidance
The archive contains no separate video or written troubleshooting procedure. Seat removal and reassembly, electrical verification, heater-pad modification, programming, and final checks need exact source material. Keep the four illustrations in their original order and resolve the caption errors before relying on their English labels.
