1. Product and source scope

This reference follows the archived W206 cover article and its specifically linked installation video. The original product image identifies 2022–2024 Mercedes-Benz C-Class W206 and describes 64-color illumination around the inner and outer areas of the speaker cover. These are source descriptions; the exact vehicle trim, factory lighting configuration and kit version still need confirmation before installation. “Inner and outer” does not establish installation on the vehicle exterior.

The pictured module label refers to vehicles with factory ambient lighting. Its printed identifiers include 206, 254, 214 and 223; that module label does not establish that this complete W206 cover kit fits all those vehicles.

W206 illuminated midrange cover kit and five-part source legend

The original image identifies five component types:

  1. Illuminated speaker cover.
  2. Cover extension harness.
  3. Ambient-light control module.
  4. Mounting screws.
  5. Cover adapter harness.

Confirm the contents supplied with the actual kit. The existing English image has a broken W206 heading and a partly covered No. 04 marker, so use the numbered legend above to identify the illustrated parts.

2. Installation video and tools

English installation video

The archived article’s installation link is recorded as WX-0085. That exact article leads to the W206 midrange-cover video retained here. The English video is a draft: several captions run ahead of the corresponding action, and some Chinese captions remain visible. Use the approximate navigation below with the demonstrated action, rather than treating the English caption timing as an instruction cue.

The source demonstrates a T30 Torx tool, a trim-prying tool and cutting pliers. It also shows mounting screws and washers. Screw torque, permissible cutting boundaries and the complete list of required tools are not supplied by the archived article.

3. Source-supported procedure and chapter navigation

  1. About 0:14–0:41 — Door trim removal. The source identifies the T30 tool, removes two screws, pries the trim clips and works the door panel free. It then shows the panel being lifted and connectors released. A door-release cable is visible during this work. The source does not provide a complete connector/cable release diagram or a vehicle-specific power-isolation procedure.
  2. About 0:42–0:58 — Original cover fixing points. The source shows cutting pliers being used on plastic fixing points at the rear of the original cover. These are plastic retention points in the demonstrated assembly; the English term “weld points” is insufficiently specific. The exact points that may be cut, replacement retention requirements and material limits need confirmation before this irreversible operation.
  3. About 0:59–1:27 — Fit the illuminated cover. Bring the cover assembly to the door trim and align its clips and mounting areas. The source points to a local area that must be made flatter for clearance, then shows supplied screws and washers being tightened. This is a demonstrated local fit adjustment, not an instruction to flatten the entire panel. The permissible trim amount and tightening specification are not given.
  4. About 1:29–2:06 — Module and harness connections. The source presents two harness types and the lighting module. It shows the cover extension harness connecting at the 4P position and the other harness at the 5P position. Those labels identify the demonstrated connector positions; they are not a pin assignment or electrical specification. The black adapter harness is shown mating with an existing vehicle connector. This is an adapter connection in the source, not evidence for splicing or “tapping into” individual wires. Follow the exact kit/vehicle connector diagram once confirmed, rather than matching connector shape alone.
  5. After connection — Reassembly details pending. The source shows a connection being plugged back in, but does not give a complete routing, fastening and door-panel reassembly checklist. Confirm harness clearance, retention, door-release operation and the applicable reassembly procedure before closing the door trim.

4. Lighting effect and unresolved checks

The final seconds show red lighting around the installed cover, alongside other existing illuminated door components. This is a limited effect sample. It does not establish installation of those other components, operation of all 64 colors, vehicle-setting integration or fault-free performance.

The archived troubleshooting section is empty. A complete installation handoff still requires the exact W206 trim/kit compatibility, factory-lighting prerequisites, connector and power diagram, cutting/fastening limits, any required activation procedure, full reassembly checks and fault-diagnosis instructions. No voltage, pinout, torque or coding value is established by this reference. The image and English video also need the corrections described above before upload preparation can be considered complete.
