This guide covers the passenger-side dynamic ambient-light trim panel in this tutorial's own W206 source material. The product image describes 2022–2024 C-Class W206 vehicles, while the attached wiring-diagram filename describes 2022–2025. These differing source descriptions require kit/version confirmation; they do not establish compatibility with every vehicle in either range.
Product and kit identification
The original product picture uses the following six part numbers:
- 01 — Passenger dynamic ambient-light trim panel. The long replacement passenger-side trim piece.
- 02 — RGB ambient-light main module. The photographed module is labeled
2.4G,206/254and has ports markedSPI4,RGB3,RGB2andRGB1. These are hardware labels, not confirmed radio specifications, pin assignments or approval for every listed chassis. - 03 — Protocol interface box. Its photographed label reads
LIN-to-CAN control module V2.0andLC-SW01-V1.0.0. A printed note mentions a sunroof output connection; this tutorial does not establish that output's role in the passenger-panel installation. - 04 — Footwell-lamp connector power-adapter harness. This identifies the photographed adapter; it is not an electrical pin designation.
- 05 — Trim-to-module extension harness. The cable between the panel and the module.
- 06 — Module/protocol-box power splitter lead. The photographed one-to-two lead.
The existing English image still contains incorrect component wording, mixed numbering and unreadable translated notes. Use the source-based list above for identification until the image has been corrected.
Wiring diagram and its separate numbering
Wiring connection diagram — source filename: Mercedes-Benz 2022–2025 C-Class W206 passenger dynamic ambient-light panel
The attached diagram remains in Chinese. Its eleven diagram numbers differ from the six product-picture numbers. Read its legend as follows:
- Diagram 1 — Dynamic ambient-light trim piece: the illuminated component installed in the interior trim position.
- Diagram 2 — White light-strip connecting lead: links the light strip to the extension harness.
- Diagram 3 — Four-pin, four-wire connector at the light strip: the mating point between the strip lead and the extension harness.
- Diagram 4 — Black four-pin, four-wire extension harness: described by the diagram as carrying light-strip signal and power.
- Diagram 5 — Reserved four-pin, four-wire connector: shown unused.
- Diagram 6 — Four-pin, four-wire connector at the main module: the diagram labels this connection
SPI4. - Diagram 7 — Ambient-light main control box: described as the central signal-output controller.
- Diagram 8 — Protocol interface box: described as providing function expansion or signal conversion.
- Diagram 9 — Adapter connector: the diagram identifies the mating connection as the original front footwell-lamp connector.
- Diagram 10 — Power lead: the source labels the red lead as a constant-power connection at a vehicle fuse interface.
- Diagram 11 — One-to-two connection lead: the power-lead/control-box mating connection.
The source notes call for fully seated connectors, professional installation and a function test after installation. Its red-lead description does not identify an approved fuse position, fuse rating, ground point, voltage, terminal pinout, wire protection or electrical-isolation procedure. Obtain the instructions for the exact supplied harness and vehicle before making that power connection. The product-picture module and the diagram/video module also need a version check; port labels alone are not sufficient.
Installation video and chapter navigation
These chapters locate the actions and Chinese captions in this tutorial's own 41-second source video. They describe its demonstration; the clip does not provide a complete vehicle service procedure.
- 00:06–00:13 — Screen and original silver trim. The source says to remove the screen and indicated components, then the original silver passenger trim. The sampled frames show the technician pointing to the area and holding the trim. Screen fasteners, retaining-clip release and the complete removal operation are not established by those frames.
- 00:13–00:23 — Retain and reconnect the original light units. The source says the silver trim has two original light units, tells the installer to remove both from the trim, reconnect their original plugs, wrap and retain them, and repeat on the other side. It emphasizes reconnecting them. Confirm the exact light units, connector retention and protected storage position before following this instruction; the sampled frames do not establish the entire operation.
- 00:23–00:28 — Extension cable and
SPI4. The demonstration introduces the extension cable and labels the shown main-module connectionSPI4. Match the exact supplied module and connector diagram; this label is not an electrical pin number. - 00:28–00:36 — Leave the other shown outputs unused. The source points to other module outputs and repeatedly warns against plugging additional products into them for this demonstration. The current English captions fragment the port names and say “this one.” Confirm the exact module/output identification against the source before connecting anything; do not turn this demonstration into a universal rule for other kits or modules.
- 00:36–00:41 — Interior lighting display. The closing display includes several illuminated interior accessories. It does not establish that every visible accessory belongs to this panel kit or that the completed vehicle has passed all functional tests.
Checks still required
Confirm the vehicle equipment, kit generation, module version, approved power connection and connector diagram. This source does not provide verified coding, DIP-switch values, tightening torque or a complete fault-diagnosis procedure. The archived effect-display and troubleshooting headings contain no written acceptance criteria or fault steps.
The image and Chinese PDF need local English correction. The current video needs subtitle and voice review, especially the SPI4/unused-output warning and the references to the original light units. Later machine-reviewed subtitle candidates are not proof that their wording has been applied to the current video. No complete source/current playback, listening review or technical acceptance is recorded for this revision.
