The held module is labelled “ambient-light control module / C809 multicolor / left-front door.” The connection caption identifies power connector No. 3 for the door ambient-light module.

Source limits: Connector No. 3 is a connector designation, not terminal/pin 3. The source’s left-front C809 label does not establish the actual kit’s main-module position or resolve the separate right-front DIP-label discrepancy. Terminals, polarity, module identity and adhesive fixation remain unverified.

Source 003 · band 04/04: source routing and door/body connector

Unchanged original source photo: Source 003 · band 04/04: source routing and door/body connector

The source marks a module, footwell lights and the center console along a dashed routing illustration. Its next caption describes separating the A-pillar connector with a flathead screwdriver.

Source limits: The source gives no complete protected wire route, connector identity, release force or supply/SRS isolation procedure. The diagram and photographed tool do not authorize connector separation.

The next source strip describes connector disassembly, added terminals, a lamp replacement labelled glovebox light, and console light-guide installation. Its vacant-cavity/male-female alignment statement is recorded as source wording only. Empty cavities, matching colors or apparent terminal alignment do not establish electrical compatibility or permission to add wires. The “5 lights” caption does not verify kit quantity.

The previous English raster masks original fields/status and adds garbled notes; this reader preserves the original GUI pixels instead.

Source limits: Source coding-screen example only. Supplier/model names and displayed selections do not identify or approve the actual kit. Hardware, fitment, electrical prerequisites, coding parameters, write/session status and vehicle testing remain OPEN. No executable coding or wiring instruction is supplied.

4. Installation and coding checks

  1. The source recommends completing hardware installation before programming; it does not provide a complete accepted installation/coding procedure.
  2. The source says coding strategy must match the product and module. The screens remain examples; actual strategy, settings and prerequisites are not accepted here.
  3. After installation and coding, the source calls for locking the vehicle and approximately 10 minutes of sleep with no programmer in the OBD socket, and mentions battery-negative disconnection if sleep is uncertain. This is source wording, not an accepted sleep/isolation/reconnection procedure. Vehicle-specific supply/SRS handling and test evidence are absent.
  4. For its C-Class 807/808 three-color-interface example, the source describes a steady, stepwise counterclockwise color-setting movement until the lights flash and reset. No accepted interface/module match, reset timing or vehicle-test result is supplied; this remains a source-described reset, not a general instruction.

5. Troubleshooting

Ambient-light menu cannot be operated or reverts

  • The source suggests checking sleep completion; no sleep result or validated diagnostic procedure is supplied.
  • The written source troubleshooting refers to the left-front door module, while the retained DIP illustration is described as right-front main module. Source image 003 also labels a held C809 module left-front door. The correct controlling module and DIP settings remain unresolved; no setting change is approved here.
  • The source suggests checking the door-module harness; connector definitions, electrical checks and a confirmed fault result are absent.
  • The source suggests checking ambient-light/brightness coding. Accepted coding parameters and module correspondence are absent.

One light has a different color

The source describes comparison under red, green and blue and checking the inconsistent channel’s wiring. It does not establish the cause, an accepted electrical test or a replacement decision.

6. Module-setting illustrations

The retained DIP-switch image and C_AMBL04 V1.0.0 table remain source references for their labelled revision. Other-vehicle rows do not extend this guide's fitment. Actual module position/revision, vehicle/head-unit correspondence, DIP values and VID/coding acceptance remain open, including the unresolved left/right module descriptions.

Source 014: labelled DIP-switch area

Unchanged own original: Source 014: labelled DIP-switch area

The source caption labels the boxed and arrowed area “right-front door main-module DIP-switch area”. The photograph shows the board and connectors; it does not supply a pin/cavity map, electrical assignment or a verified switch setting. Small nearby label text is not used to identify the actual kit. This right-front label conflicts with the article’s left-front troubleshooting reference and the earlier left-front C809 module photo; that discrepancy remains unresolved.
