Vehicle and product scope

This guide covers the replacement illuminated rear turbine air vents shown for 2021–2023 Mercedes-Benz E-Class 213 vehicles identified in the source as the 801 version. The source does not define the 801 designation or provide a module part number; confirm the vehicle and lighting-kit version before installation.

Rear turbine air vent kit, harness and trim rings

Installation

The illustrated sequence shows opening and removing the cup holder, removing its base pad and the rear-vent panel screws, then releasing the panel at the circled points. Remove the vent retaining screws and original trim rings, install the illuminated turbine vents, align the locating pins, and fit the new trim cap. The final illustration shows routing the rear-vent lighting lead along the side of the console to the added front-vent lighting wiring.

The required lighting connection depends on the vehicle's existing illuminated accessories, as described below.

Lighting connections and troubleshooting

  1. If the vehicle has factory ambient lighting but no added illuminated front vents, the source requires a separate module to drive the rear-vent lighting.
  2. If the vehicle has factory ambient lighting and added illuminated front vents, the source connects the rear-vent lighting to that added front-vent lighting system. Confirm that the module and harness are the corresponding versions; the source does not identify all compatible kits.
  3. If the colors do not match, select basic red, green and blue individually. Check the connection and light emitter for a missing channel; replace an emitter that is confirmed faulty.
  4. If all rear-vent lights remain off, check that the main harness connector is fully seated and that the connected terminals are correct.
  5. The source's wire-color comparison applies to the harness shown below. It does not establish a universal wire-color standard or connector pinout; confirm the actual harness before connecting it.
